At the Australian Sports Pony Registry 2005 Assessment Tour, Matitojo Stud had two ponies assessed for Premium Grading.
Mithril Mood Indigo was assessed First Premium with her colt foal at foot, Matitojo Duvallier receiving a Preliminary First Premium grading and comments from the assessors that he was definitely stallion material.
At the 2004 ASPR Tour, Matitojo Sherdan and Matitojo Dawnies Girl were both assessed 1st Premium.

Elken Honey has proven not to be in foal so is currently being served by Matitojo Sherzawn. Mithril Mood Indigo only has a few short weeks to go before her bundle arrives - fingers are crossed for a filly - don't particularly care what colour!
We recently spent a day washing and dressing up our wonderful stallion for new photo's - he really does wonder what we are up to at times as he hasn't been out to a show for quite a few years! Check out the Resident Stallion page for some lovely action shots.

Foal number 1 for the season has arrived, a lovely pally colt by our resident stallion and out of the adorable little Minya - he is full of cheek (top right) and loves testing mum's patience to the very
limit! (see stud mares page & ponies for sale pages for more photo's). Minya keeps producing
the goods but is yet to come up with that elusive palomino filly!
M. Hamishka has recently delivered a lovely elegant bay filly x the anglo/warmblood Deveron
Di Maggio (see stud mares page for photo's) Treasured Regina, our leased NF/TB cross mare
has also delivered a lovely chestnut colt with huge movement (See stud mares & ponies for sale
pages.)

December, 2005
Obviously we didn't cross enough fingers and toes as Mithril Mood Indigo delivered a colt! Total tally is one filly and three colts for the season.
Thank goodness Indy decided not to repeat last years foaling experience - her first foal arrived about 10 days early, in the middle of the night and a torrential downpour of rain! She was very accommodating this year and foaled at 10 am in the morning - giving us a wonderful photo opportunity.

We recently tried out the Welsh B mare that I am preparing for the Vic All Welsh Show over a few jumps. She certainly showed a bit of talent (and love!) for jumping with this photo (below) being her first time over jumps.

and will shortly be broken-in to commence his career under
saddle.
February, 2007
Three ponies from Matitojo Stud recently made the trip to
Bendigo to attend the ASSPS Vic. State Championships.
Matitojo Mood Magic, a yearling gelding (see for sale page)
amazed all with his fantastic attitude and impressively quiet
nature at his very first event. He ended up taking home
Champion Junior ASSPS Gelding. Matitojo Shermiah, now a
3 year old also went well on the weekend taking home
Champion C Group mare on Saturday as well as Champion
ASSPS Female on the Sunday.
Matitojo Sherdan (Legs) totally outperformed himself by winning
Grand Champion Led Senior Gelding, Champion Best Educated,
Best Presented of Show and then capped that off with Supreme
Ridden ASSPS Exhibit.
Legs then turned around on Sunday to win Supreme Led ASSPS Exhibit for the Charity All Breeds and Supreme Led Palomino Exhibit. We didn't do any of the ridden classes on the second day due to heat and the ponies had done enough on the day before!
Matitojo Sherzawn (our resident stallion) certainly proved his worth with all three of the above ponies being sired by him. The 2 y.o. palomino colt, Mylani Stawm owned by Nadine and Jon Holland (by Matitojo Sherzawn) performed extremely well at the Championship Show as well, taking out Grand Champion Junior Male. Congratulations to Nadine and Jon on their lovely boy.

Matitojo Duvallier performed very well at the recent Victorian All Welsh Show. He placed 2nd in his part welsh 2/3 year old colt class and went on to win his part welsh 2 y.o. colt/gelding futurity.
Foaling season is now officially over with a fourth filly arriving in December from our black Welsh B mare, Mithril Mood Indigo. She put herself in the good books by delivering a gold filly this time round. Pictured below left.
Matitojo Sherzazu has been sold and will shortly be departing for his new home in Woodend, Victoria.
We are busy preparing ponies for several large upcoming shows - Matitojo Duvallier, 2 year old part welsh colt for the Victorian All Welsh; M. Mood Magic, M. Shermiah and M. Sherdan for the 2007 ASSPS State Championship weekend in February and M. Malika for the Arab Classic in early March. M. Shermiah will also shortly be broken in to saddle.

Four new babies have recently arrived with one more to come in another couple of weeks. Pretty good strike rate from our resident stallion so far - he's the sire of all five foals due. Three fillies & one colt to date - photo's and details on the Stud Mares page.
January, 2006
Five mares recently scanned in foal to our resident stallion with one Mithril Mood Indigo hopefully carrying through.
We attended the Vic. All Welsh Show with Matitojo Duvallier (yearling part welsh colt) and he acquitted himself very well. He placed 2nd in his yearling colt class and then went on to take out Reserve Champion Junior colt from the 2/3 year olds.
Mithril Rosalind also went well placing in her ridden class and scored 65% in her very first dressage test. She's out on a well earned break until early February when she will be bough back in to work and then offered for sale on behalf of Mithril Welsh Stud.

M. Dawnies Girl just delivered a lovely palomino colt (pic. below left) with outstanding colour and beautiful head. Colt is by our resident stallion M. Sherzawn.
All of the yearling fillies are developing nicely and we took the opportunity recently to take some photo's of them gallivanting around the paddock. We are more than happy with all of them - all fillies are by our resident stallion, M. Sherzawn - pictured below
